Interview & Selection Tips from Experience

Knowing what actually happens at the centre and preparing for it makes a real difference on the day. Here is how the process usually unfolds and how to be ready for it.

What Happens at the AS&RC, Step by Step

1. Initial registration and document check. Your documents are checked first and your registration is completed. In practice, a missing or mismatched paper can end a candidate’s day at this very first step, so it matters more than most candidates expect.
2. Initial written / IQ screening. A screening test checks your basic education level and general intelligence for the trade you have applied for.
3. Physical tests. Candidates are put through physical tests, typically including a 1.6 km run, push-ups and sit-ups. These are demanding if you have not practised — regular training in the weeks before is what usually separates prepared candidates from the rest.
4. Medical examination. Height, chest, eyesight and general fitness are examined against Pakistan Army standards.
5. Final merit and interview. Candidates who clear all the earlier stages are placed on merit and go through the final interview and selection.

How to Prepare

• Start running practice at least 3–4 weeks before your district’s date, and practise push-ups and sit-ups daily fitness cannot be built in the last two days.
• Carry your documents in a clear file, arranged in the exact order asked for in the advertisement, with your attested photocopy sets already prepared.
• Reach the centre well before 8:00 AM. Reporting runs from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and candidates who arrive early usually get through registration with far less crowding.
• Check your CNIC / B-Form and domicile in advance your name and date of birth should match on every document.

Common Reasons Candidates Are Rejected

• Height or chest measurement falling just short of the minimum standard.
• Incomplete documents a missing attested copy, domicile or photograph discovered at the document check.
• An expired CNIC, or a missing B-Form for candidates under 18.
• Failing the running test simply because of no practice in the weeks before the day.

Applying for Sipahi Clerk? Along with the required computer diploma, a genuinely good typing speed helps you stand out in practice, because clerk duties are office and record work if you can, practise typing regularly before your test day.
